StatCounter provides free customisable hit counters, visitor tracking and website stats for Joomla Version 1.5

StatCounter provides free customisable hit counters, visitor tracking, web analytics andwebsite stats for Joomla Version 1.5. You simply need to:

1. Sign up for a free account at StatCounter and follow the 'Install Code' wizard to generate your StatCounter code.
2. When prompted, make sure to choose Joomla Version 1.5 as your Blog/Web Page Editor from the drop down list.
3. Copy the StatCounter code.
4. Log into your Joomla website.
5. Click "Global Configuration"
   
   
   
   
6. Temporarily change the "Default WYSIWYG Editor" to "No Editor" - this can be changed back after you have installed StatCounter - and click "Save".
   
   
   
   
7. Click "Module Manager" under the "Extensions" menu.
   
   
   
   
8. Now click "New" to add a module to your site.
   
   
   
   
9. Select the "Custom HTML" option and then click "Next".
   
   
   
   
10. Enter StatCounter as the "Title" for your module. Click "No" beside "Show Title" and then select a "Position" for your StatCounter. (The footer area or equivalent is recommended.)
    
    
    
    
11. Now scroll down and paste your StatCounter code into the "Custom Output" section of the module.
    
    
    
    
12. Click "Save" and that's it!

Your StatCounter will now begin recording visitor information and, if you chose the visible option, your counter will be visible on your website!
